In this class, we wrap up the Section 2 review quiz. We then start our introduction on Section 3 - transistors.
Homework: Build Activity 1 - Using a Transistor as an Amplifier
In this class, we cover Activities 1 and 2 and provide an introductory lesson on transistors.
Homework: Build Activities 1 and 2 and draw schematics for both activities.
In this class, we continue our discussion on bi-polar junction transistors (BJT) and build Activity 3.
Homework: Build Activity 3 from scratch. Draw the schematics for Activity 1 and 2 on a blank piece of paper.
In this class, we continue our discussion on BJT's and build Activity 4
Homework: Build Activity 4 from scratch. Draw the schematics for Activities 3 and 4 on black pieces of paper.
In this class, we demonstrate how PNP and NPN transistors can work together by building Activity 5.
Homework: Finish building Activity 5 by following the breadboard picture and ensure that it works. Then, rebuild from scratch using the schematic.
In this class, we discuss Activity 6 and conduct a review of transistor concepts.
Homework: Build Activity 7. Be sure to doublecheck the polarity of your capacitors. Be sure to wear your safety glasses.
Note: There was no class on Feb. 18, 2025.
In this class, we build activity 6 and learn about linear voltage regulators.
Homework: Build Activity 7 and have it ready for the next class.
In this class, we review the LED blinker circuit from Activity 7. We then dig into the Section 3 review quiz.
