In this session, we cover resources needed for class and  review class and safety guidelines. We then build Activity 1, the LED tester.

Homework: Build Activity 1 - LED tester again and make your own drawing of the schematic for this activity.

In this session, we review Activity 1. We then have a lesson on electrons, electricity and circuits. We wrap up by learning how to read voltage with a digital multimeter.

Homework: Measure the voltage of batteries you have around the how and write down the information on your worksheet.

In this session, we explore voltage, current, and resistance and the concept of electrical polarity. We also make our own variable reistor.

In this session, we build Activity 6 and control the brightness of an LED. We then learn how to measure current using a multimeter.

In this session, we learn more about resistors, including how to read resistor color codes.

Homework: Activity 9

In this class we cover an introduction to Ohm's law, prefixes such as kilo and mega, and learn about switches.

Homework: Activities 9, 10, & 11

In this session, we work on Challenge 2 and learn more about how potentiometers behave.

Homework: Rebuild Challenge 2

In this session, we build Activity 12 and learn how to use electrolytic capacitors.

Homework is to complete Activity 12 and the work on Activity 13.

In this session, we build Activity 14 and discuss how to make changes to an activity.

Homework: Rebuild Activity 14 and draw the schematic.

In this session, we complete the Section 1 review quiz together. A printable version of this quiz is available at the top of this section.
