That depends on the circuit, if there’s a path for the charge that stored in the capacitor to discharge, then it will. If there isn’t a path then the capacitor will hold the charge for some time (weeks or months). This is why
it’s important to always treat a capacitor as if it’s charged.
How do capacitors discharge themselves when in a circuit?
