The carrot itself is a type of root—it is responsible for conducting water from the soil to the plant. The carrot is made of cells. Cells are mostly water, but they are filled with other substances too (organelles, the nucleus, etc).

We’re going to do two experiments on a carrot: first we’re going to figure out how to move water into the cells of a carrot. Second, we’ll look at how to move water within the carrot and trace it. Last, we’ll learn how to get water to move out of the carrot. And all this has to do with cells!

    Ok
Thanks we will give that a shot!

  2. I’m sorry about your tree! Flush the soil with lots of water and contact a local professional arborist. You’ll need to take care of the salt water first, then address the health of the tree once you’ve found a way to divert it.

What I meant was we have a huge ditch of salt water we had to dig up because it was clogging but we don’t know what to do with it and it keeps running/moving towards are tree and some branches are hanging limp we are afraid we might have damaged some of it already : ( Do you ( or anyone ) know what to do about our tree ? Any suggestions at this point help!
    Thanks

  4. No, there’s not enough salt in the experiment to hurt the tree. You can use a water hose to dilute and rinse it away from any vegetation.

The one with the salt that’s really cool and I am so glad I did it because we have this salt water draining into our yard and it is going straight to 1 of our biggest tree that gives you a LOT of shade pretty much all of our shade in that spot!
    Can it kill our tree?

  6. Yes, please try both and update us with the results!

    I haven’t tried this yet,but I will.Has anyone tried putting sugar in it?Someone mentioned that,but I’m curious.

  8. What do you expect to happen? Try it!
